FAIRMONT — There will be a Census Forum on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the Fairmont-South Robeson Heritage Center from 7 to 8 p.m.

This community forum is for the citizens of Fairmont, Orrum, Proctorville, Marietta, Rowland, Barnesville and the Centerville area.

It will be hosted by Fairmont Mayor Charles Kemp and the Town of Fairmont, along with the Robeson County Complete Count Committee. There will be a social hour with refreshing hors d’oeuvres served.

The panelists for the forum include: North Carolina Senator Michael Walters; Elizabeth Jacobs, U.S. Census Bureau Representative; John Campbell, Executive Director North Carolina Human Relations Commission; Gayle Fernandez, Executive Director Robeson County Community Development Corp.; and Roger Oxendine, Robeson County Commissioner for District 3.

The Heritage Center is at 207 S. Main St., Fairmont.

Invocation will be led by Charles Townsend, Fairmont Town Commissioner.

Greetings will be made by: Rod Jenkins, Assistant County Manager; Elizabeth Hunt, Mayor of Rowland; Justin Oliver, Mayor of Marietta; and Frances M. Cummings, AKA Sorority.

The panel will be introduced by Effie McGill, principal at Rosenwald Elementary School in Fairmont.
