The Robesonian seeking Matthew stories

Staff Report

LUMBERTON — Pretty much everyone who was in Robeson County on Oct. 8, 2016, and during the days that followed Hurricane Matthew’s visit has a story to tell.

The Robesonian is looking for some of the more compelling ones to be featured in a magazine that will be published on Oct. 8, the one-year anniversary of the devastating event.

The newspaper plans to publish the best of the stories that are provided by its readers.

To have yours considered, share in words how you and your loved ones were affected by Hurricane Matthew and how you coped with the situation. Did you lose your home? Were you put out of work? Did you have to live in a shelter? Were you among the many volunteers who provided comfort to others in the days following the hurricane?

The newspaper is asking people to share their story in 400 words or less and email it to matthew@robesonian.com. If there is a photograph that helps depict the story, please provide that as well. A head shot of the person who writes the story is also encouraged.

The deadline for the submission is Sept. 8 at noon.
