Amanda Kaye Powers and Aaron Bradley Meares were married on June 24.

The couple exchanged vows at the home of Richard and Lenore Taylor in Lumberton. Pastor Jeff Mitchell performed the ceremony.

Powers is the daughter of the late Mary Powers. She is the granddaughter of Shelby Hicks, and the late Buck Powers, and the great-granddaughter of the late Elsie and Woodrow Rowland.

The bride attended Lumberton Senior High School and Robeson Community Colleg. She is a graduate of Montgomery Community College. She is employed by Taylor Insurance Agency.

The groom is the son of Bobby and Robin Meares, of Lumberton. He is the grandson of Billy and Alice Meares, Betty McCray, and the late George W. Hester

The groom is a graduate of Lumberton Senior High School and is employed by Quickie Manufacturing.

Welcoming the bride to the family are the groom’s children, Taylor Jane Meares and Colton Ray Meares.

Janis Rozier and Ricky Suggs sang at the wedding.

The reception, also held at the Taylor home, was hosted by Dave Scurlock and Janis Rozier.
