Krista Lee Deese, 23, of 204 N. Watson St., was killed in the accident that injured three others, but none of them seriously, according to a report by Trooper Jerome McMillian.
The report said that Deese was driving a 2006 Chevrolet passenger vehicle south on N.C. 710 when it struck the left side of a 1999 Ford pickup truck being driven by Kenneth Pittman Parker Jr., 28, of 104 W. Chapel St. The pickup truck, which was pulling a boat, was attempting to back into a private driveway when the accident happened.
Parker and two passengers in the vehicle, Bobby Godwin and Melanie Godwin, complained of injuries and were taken to Scotland Memorial Hospital, according to the report. Deese was alone in her vehicle.
There were no charges in the accident, which happened at 3:02 a.m., about four miles north of Rowland.
The report said about $4,500 of damage was done to the Chevrolet and about $3,000 to the Ford pickup.
