Jan. 31 BUSINESS & JOBS SUMMIT IN THE HISTORIC DOWNTOWN HERITAGE CENTER AT 7 p.m. MEMBERS OF MY J.O.B.S. TEAM WILL OFFER GRANT AND JOB CREATION ADVICE TO ALL FAIRMONT BUSINESSES WHICH HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN INVITED. AN “OPEN MIKE” SESSION WILL GIVE ALL BUSINESS PARTICIPANTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO ASK QUESTIONS AND OFFER SUGGESTIONS. REFRESHMENTS WILL BE SERVED.

Feb 4 Seniors bingo. 1 to 3 p.m. in the Heritage Center. Lots of fun and Valentine treats for our Seniors.
Each Saturday in February (4th, 11th, 18th, 25th) Dixie Youth baseball signups in the the hall courtroom 10 a.m. to noon
Feb. 7 PRIDE IN FAIRMONT CEREMONY. 7 p.m. in our Heritage Center. 177 individuals, businesses, groups, and organizations have been invited by me and will receive certificates of appreciation for their efforts and donations during 2011. Entertainment and an awesome slide show from Town Clerk Jenny Larson.
Refreshments served. A wonderful evening to thank our helpers.

Feb. 18 Green Briar/Valentine social. 2 p.m. Farmers Festival queens and me treat the residents there to some singing and fun.
Feb. 21 Regular town board meeting. 6 p.m. site TBA
Feb. 25 BOOK ‘EM literary event at RCC in Lumberton 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dozens of authors (some well known and quite famous) will be on hand. I will be moderating a panel discussion on youth matters starting at 3 p.m.

Feb. 25 Frederic Almond- Author from Williamsburg Va. Participating in the Book ‘Em event at RCC. At 11 yrs. old he and his mom were attacked by a burglar in L.A. and he was stabbed 39 times. Frederic survived and has written a book, “Scarred 4 Life”. He is a motivational speaker as well. A powerful story to share.
Mar. 3 Farmers Festival Chairman Carey Pittman will unveil a “big festival secret” for 2012. Stand by for an exciting announcement.
