Evelyn Price has two children, two grandsons and a great-granddaughter. She is the founder of The Fashion Bar, a ladies’ specialty store, and was the owner and manager for 54 years.
Jason Bullock is an agriculture teacher at St. Pauls High School and is active in the St. Pauls FFA chapter. He was recently named the Robeson County Teacher of the Year. Bullock is the son of Danny and Marla Bullock.
The two will come together to compete in the Dancing with the Robeson County Stars competition on March 24 at the Southeastern Agricultural Center. The United Way event asks community members to support their favorite couple by voting with a $10 donation.
Their first practice was on Friday the 13th, but the bad luck date was not an omen for their dancing.
“He is a dancer himself,” Price said. “I used to dance myself quite a bit. It’s been a long time but I’m going to enjoy … learning all over again.”
Proceeds raised through ticket sales and donations will be used to bring the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to the county. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which was established in 1996 by country singer Dolly Parton, provides a free book monthly to children 5 and under.

“I think it will be a lot of fun and it’s for a wonderful cause,” Price said.
For those who want a sneak peek of the action, tickets for the rehearsal, which will be held at 6 p.m. on March 23, are $25 in advance and $35 at the door. Doors open at 5 p.m. and no cell phones or recording devices are allowed.
Tickets are available at the United Way office, 202 N. Chestnut St. in Lumberton.
