Blackmon-McIver

Beatrice Blackmon of Lumberton and Nathaniel Blackmon of Charlotte announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Blackmon of Raleigh, to Daniel McIver, the son of Shirley McIver and the late Jasper McIver Jr. of Lumberton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Josephine Nance Moore and Robert Moore of Lumberton and the late Elias “Buck” Blackmon and Bessie Thompson Blackmon of Lumberton. She attended Littlefield High School, Shaw University and North Carolina Central University. She works for Wake County Public School System.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Enda and Dock Rozier of Lumberton and the late Jasper and Heddie McIver of Lumberton. He attended Littlefield High School and works for McIver Lawn Care & Home Improvement.

The wedding will be held at 3 p.m. on April 21 at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Rainier A. Gil of Charlotte and Jacqueline Balmas of Midland announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Elizabeth Gil, to James Anthony Lorello, the son of James and Elizabeth Lorello.

The bride-elect graduated from North Carolina State University and is attending Appalachian State University. She is employed as a graduate assistant for Leadership Education at Appalachian State University.

The groom-elect graduated from the University of South Florida and Appalachian State University. He is employed as a hall director at Georgetown University.

The wedding will be held at 5 p.m. on June 2 in Boone.

Coleman-McLellan

Bernie and Linda Coleman of Lumberton announce the engagement of their daughter, Tiffany Lynn Coleman of Lumberton, to Brandon McLellan, the son of Jimmy McLellan and Linda Cox.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Herbert and Dru West, Ernestine Coleman and the late J.P. Coleman Jr. She attended Lumberton High School and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She works at the Eye Care Center.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Horace and Liza Turner and the late David and Virginia McLellan. He attended Fairmont High School, University of South Carolina, and Campbell University. He served as a member of the United States Air Force and currently works at Carlie C’s Pharmacy.

The wedding will be held at 5 p.m. on Feb. 18 at Hyde Park Baptist Church.
